Modern rock fans rejoice, Matchbox Twenty will be entertaining ticket holders at the Qwest Center Omaha on February 26. In a big concert month where older big name acts such as Van Halen and Bon Jovi have received all of the attention in Omaha, some younger rock fans may be looking forward to the Matchbox 20 concert at the Qwest Center a little more.
Matchbox Twenty, lead by charismatic singer/songwriter Rob Thomas, hit it big on rock radio in the early 90s with hits like "Long Day" and "3 a.m." off their debut album Yourself or Someone Like You. The CD sold over 12 million copies and earned the band a reputation of big band status. Matchbox Twenty has since released three other full albums that have all went platinum, including a highly successful solo CD from singer Rob Thomas.
Matchbox Twenty's latest album Exile on Mainstream was released in 2007 and includes all of the bands greatest hits as well as six new songs. In light of the album name the band has decided to name their concert tour Exile on America. Matchbox Twenty will tour in 34 states and stop in Omaha for a concert at the Qwest Center on February 26. Opening at the concert for Matchbox 20 will be singer Alanis Morissette.
