Dave Matthews Band set to rock Qwest on July 22

One of the traditionally hottest acts on the touring scene comes to Omaha when the Dave Matthews Band performs at the Qwest Center on Tuesday, July 22.

Dave Matthews started out as a bartender in a Charlottesville, Va., but his songwriting skills quickly led him down the path toward rock royalty. After putting a band together using some of the best jazz and fusion musicians from his native Virginia, the band has gone on to multimillion-selling status, a rabid fan base and numerous Grammy Awards.

The band's first major label success came in 1994 with the album "Under The Table And Dreaming." The follow-up album, "Crash," included the Grammy Award-winning "So Much To Say" and they have also had huge hits with "Too Much" and "Crash Into Me." The band is out on tour supporting a new album this summer.
